What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It's a format that web sites and blogs can use to send updated headlines to you via services like an RSS feed reader in your e-mail browser or through services like My Yahoo! or Google. Syndication means you don't have to visit each site individually to see what's new—you simply scan headlines or brief article summaries in your RSS feed and click to read the full text if you're interested.

Using RSS with the East High School Daily Announcements

We offer several types of RSS feeds (see syndication section below) depending on your preference:

• If you have a user account on Yahoo! or Google simply click on the RSS feed icon for that option and it will be added to your RSS feeds.
• If you have the newer Internet Explorer 7 simply click on any of the RSS options (1.0 or 2.0) and you will get a screen that allowsyou to add it to your Feeds by clicking on the subscribe link.
• If you use other types of RSS readers, such as RSS via your E-mail, or via ATOM, click on the appropriate RSS feed link and copy the XML code into your reader program.

That's all there is to it. Once you subscribe you will receive automatic updates whenever new announcements are posted.
