What is Red Devil Pride?
Red Devil Pride is a program we have started at Green Bay East that helps teach character traits to our students in co-curricular activities. The character traits that we focus on throughout the year are: accountability, confidence, discipline, humility, integrity, leadership, mental toughness, responsibility, selflessness, and teachable spirit. Through these traits, we hope to help build a solid foundation within in our students that will carry them not only in the activities, in which they participate, but also to the classroom and beyond.
Our goal is not necessarily to build leaders out of every student but to give our students the opportunity to become leaders, but more importantly, when a fork in the road comes along, the students are able to make the best decision for themselves, their family, their teammates, and their school.
Bruce Brown, Director of Proactive Coaching, states it this way: "Being a leader is more than having physical skills and being able to perform better that an opponent on a certain day. These traits are God-given gifts that you have no control over. Being a true leader involves choices you make on things you do have control over - effort and attitude - in other words, character issues."
Please help us recognize students that exemplify Red Devil Pride in the positive actions they show in their activities and in the classroom.
Communication is a key component to the success of Red Devil Pride. Please feel free to contact me , Timothy Flood - Activities Director, by phone at 920-272-7048 or by email at: tflood@greenbay.k12.wi.us
