 The East High School Community Foundation is a student run organization that works in cooperation with the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation (www.ggbcf.org). The first goal of the East High School Community Foundation is to help students learn about investing through the management of a real investment portfolio. Local professionals provide education and additional advice but the members of the foundation, through a student board of directors and various committees, make all decisions on how to manage the portfolio. Margueritte Gardner, who generously funded the original start up of the foundation, has made it clear that this is to be a learning experience for students.
The second goal of the Foundation is to positively impact the Green Bay community through charitable efforts funded by investment profits. The goal is that this endowment will continue to grow and develop as a long-term project/foundation for the school and community.
